Description

American Traveler is seeking a NICU Respiratory Therapist with Level 4 NICU experience for a night shift assignment at a children's hospital.

Details

• Level 4 NICU unit at a children's hospital, also supporting Pediatric Critical Care
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
• 36 or 48 hours per week available
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Unit uses a self-scheduling model, though desired schedules are not guaranteed
• Epic experience required

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of NICU and PICU experience required, PICU Cardiac experience preferred
• Level 4 NICU experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• RRT, BLS, and NRP certifications required; PALS preferred
• VA state license required, license required if applicable
• ACCS certification preferred
• BSN preferred
• Skilled in medication delivery systems including aerosol setups and MDI
• Experience with high frequency jet ventilator and oscillating ventilator
• Experience assisting with high-risk deliveries and neonatal transports
• Proficient in airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and suctioning
• Skilled in ventilator management and interpretation of arterial blood gases
• Experience caring for patients with ARDS, aspiration, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, and respiratory distress syndrome

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care to neonatal and pediatric patients in a critical care setting
• Assist with high-risk deliveries and neonatal transports as part of the care team
• Perform pulmonary hygiene, airway management, and ventilator management duties
• Administer medications via nebulizer, MDI, and other delivery systems
• Travelers must float within their scope of practice as needed
• Time off around Christmas cannot be accommodated
• First-time travelers will be considered
