Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Neuro Progressive Care Unit position requiring VA or compact RN licensure and telemetry/dysrhythmia management experience.
Details
- Work in the Main 11 West Neuro PCU unit of a hospital setting
- Neurological patient population requiring telemetry monitoring
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM)
- 13-week assignment length
- Uses Epic EMR for charting
- Candidates will float within scope of practice as needed
- Trauma Level I hospital experience preferred
Requirements
- Active RN license (VA state or compact) required and must be in hand at time of application
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required; 2 years preferred with neuro experience preferred
- BSN preferred; diploma and Associate degree graduates from accredited schools (ACEN or CCNE) also accepted
- Required experience in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Epic charting experience required
- 2 professional references required (supervisor level or above)
Additional Information
- Provide telemetry nursing care to neurological patients including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency response
- Facility maintains a natural nail policy for all clinical staff
- Facility is a drug, tobacco, and smoke-free workplace
- Modules assigned during orientation must be completed by the Friday of orientation week
- Local candidates accepted at the same base rate with no radius rules
- Returning travelers and former permanent staff must be separated from the facility for one year before being eligible to return as a traveler
- RTO requests must be submitted at time of application; time off during the first week of assignment will not be granted
- First-time travelers with neuro experience will be considered
