Description

American Traveler is hiring a Vascular Sonographer with 2+ years of vascular sonography experience for a Heart and Vascular Institute setting requiring ARDMS-RVT certification.

Details

  • Work in a Heart and Vascular Institute unit with 5 designated beds plus 1 shared room
  • Average caseload of 6-8 patients per tech per day
  • Mostly geriatric patients with some younger patients
  • Common diagnoses include vein reflux, carotid stenosis, abdominal aneurysm, leg pain, claudication, prior grafts, endografts/fempops, renal, and aortic conditions
  • Performs structure reporting, venous reflux studies, lower arterial and ABIs, and renal exams/renal arteries
  • Uses Philips Ultrasound equipment and Sectra PACS
  • EMR is EPIC
  • Monday through Friday schedule, 0730-1630
  • No weekend rotation, on-call, or holiday coverage required
  • No floating required

Requirements

  • BLS and ARDMS-RVT certification required (license required if applicable)
  • Minimum 2+ years of vascular sonography experience required
  • Experience with vein reflux, carotid, aneurysm, graft, and renal artery studies required
  • Philips Ultrasound experience required
  • EPIC experience within the last year required
  • Parks Flo-Lab experience preferred
  • Experience with pathology cases is not accepted for this role

Additional Information

  • Support available includes weekday management, a Lead Tech, Patient Service Reps, other imaging specialties, on-site MDs for reading, and a nursing support line
  • RNs are available on site to assist with emergencies
  • Orientation includes NEO and 5 shifts (40 hours) of unit-specific orientation, with flexibility for additional orientation if needed
  • Black scrubs required
  • Free parking provided
  • First-time travelers will be considered for this position
  • Candidates must live more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible
  • Permanent staff must wait one full year before returning as a traveler
  • RTO requests must be approved through the manager
