Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring active circulation experience in Ortho/Neuro and ENT cases and a SD or compact RN license.
Details
- Work in a 4-bed Operating Room unit within an orthopedic and specialty hospital setting
- Handle an average of 7-13 cases per day
- Case types include Ortho, Podiatry, Neurosurgical, Pain Management, and ENT
- Procedures include total joints, ORIF, microsurgery, laminectomy, fusion, discectomy, ACDF, percutaneous TAL for club foot, and pain injections
- Schedule consists of 10-hour day shifts, with potential for four 10-hour shifts
- 8-hour shifts required during vacation coverage periods
- Call required approximately twice per week
- Potential to float to Rapid City hospital OR if needed
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active RN license (SD or Compact) currently in hand
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
- Completion of a board-approved nursing education program
- Minimum 1.5 years of RN experience required
- Circulation experience in Ortho/Neuro cases required
- ENT case experience required
- First-time travelers considered only with 2+ years of experience
- Epic EMR experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provide circulating RN support for a variety of orthopedic, neurosurgical, and ENT surgical cases
- Support staff includes phlebotomy, a resource nurse, and an anesthesia/CRNA team
- Orientation includes first-day computer training followed by 2-3 days of preceptor training
- Holiday coverage required for 2 of 4 major holidays (New Year's Day, Labor Day, Memorial Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, July 4th)
- Time off requests require manager approval
- Scrubs are provided and free parking is available
- Must reside 100 miles or more from any Monument Health facility to be eligible
- Permanent staff must wait one full year before returning as a traveler
- Facility is known to be traveler-friendly with high renewal rates
