Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Observation Unit (MedSurg) position requiring 1 year of experience and heavy telemetry skills.
Details
- tingospital's22-bed Observation Unit
- Patient population consists of miscellaneous medical observation cases with heavy telemetry monitoring via central monitoring
- Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5 or 1:6 with charge nurse occasionally taking patients
- CNA support available on the floor when staffing allows
- Common titratable drip is Heparin only
- No ventilator equipment on this unit
- RNs perform their own EKGs and draw their own labs
- Discharges of up to 16 patients per day with admissions and refills, in a fast-paced, high-turnover environment
- Uses MEDITECH EMR system
- Day shift schedule, 7a-7p
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage rotates with permanent staff
- Floating required to other MedSurg units
- No call or standby requirements
Requirements
- Active RN license (GA or Compact) currently in hand
- Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
- ACLS certification not required but highly recommended
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- At least 1 prior travel assignment required
- Acute care setting experience required

- Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for placement
- Not eligible for placement if previously employed by the facility within the last 12 months
- Unit-specific orientation consists of 3 shifts
- Dress code is Caribbean Blue scrub top and bottom, or white top with Caribbean Blue bottom, or all white top and bottom
