Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Cath Lab RN with a minimum of 3 years of experience and required EPIC proficiency for a hospital-based Level 2 lab.
Details
- Work in a hospital Cath Lab, EP Lab, and Vascular Angiogram/IR setting
- Level 2 diagnostic and PCI Cath Lab
- EP Lab responsibilities include device changeouts, upgrades, ICD, and pacer procedures
- IR responsibilities include simple procedures
- Patient population includes AMI, STEMI, NSTEMI, EP devices, heart arrhythmias, PAD, and PVD diagnoses
- Uses specialized equipment including Impella, IABP, temporary pacer, Shockwave, DFR, IVUS, and FFR
- Schedule options include 4x9-hour day shifts (0700-1630, 36 hours/week) or 5x8-hour day shifts (0745-1615, 40 hours/week)
- Call requirement to be determined based on skill set
- Includes pre/post-op duties
Requirements
- Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum 3 years of Cath Lab experience required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- CCI RCIS certification preferred
- EPIC charting experience required
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Trauma Level II experience preferred
- Previous charge RN experience preferred
- Skills required include ACT monitoring, cardioversion, circulating procedures, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, 12 lead EKG/ECG, and sheath removal/monitoring
- Experience with vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose) and angioplasty preferred
- Experience with antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, emergency medications, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation, and reversal agents required
- Experience with central line assistance/management and blood product administration preferred
- EP procedure experience including baseline measurements, cardioversion, and AICD/pacemaker insertion preferred
- Cardiac Cath Lab procedure experience including stent placement, diagnostic and interventional catheterizations, IABP placement/removal, and left/right heart catheterizations
- Impella insertion and PA line/Swan Ganz monitoring experience preferred
- Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor; charge RN acceptable for the second reference; coworker references not accepted
Additional Information
- Perform diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures
- Provide pre and post-procedure patient care
- Assist with electrophysiology procedures including device implantation and programming
- Complete required Ohio fingerprinting process promptly upon contract signing due to strict timelines
- Candidates residing outside Ohio but within driving distance must travel to an Ohio fingerprinting location shortly after booking
- Candidates at extreme distances will receive a mailed fingerprinting packet with instructions from the credentialing team
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
- RTO must be requested and built into the contract prior to consideration, limited to 7 days or less
- Former employees eligible for travel assignment after a 6-month separation from the facility
- Current employees are ineligible for travel assignments at this health system
- First-time travelers may be considered if they have significant relevant experience
