Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2+ years of recent acute care experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

• Work in the Med/Surg Tele unit of a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00
• 13-week assignment length
• Typical staffing ratio of 1:5
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Call required, with expectation to return to the facility within 1 hour when called
• Must be willing to float to other campus MS-Tele units (Bucyrus and Galion) if census drops to maintain hours
• Epic charting experience preferred

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required; pending licenses not accepted
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum of 2 years recent, consecutive experience in Med/Surg in a hospital/acute care setting required
• Knowledge of medication scanning required
• Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response
• Experience with Rapid Response/Code teams
• Proficient in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
• Experience with respiratory care including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, oxygen tanks, and non-invasive airway management
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care within the Med/Surg Tele unit, including cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management
• Facility does not accept time off requests for major holidays
• Minimal to no requested time off is preferred
• Smoke-free facility and campus
• Former permanent employees must wait at least 6 months before being eligible for a travel position
• Locals accepted at the same bill rate
• Candidates must be able to float to all three campuses (Ontario, Bucyrus, and Galion) as needed
