Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit night shift position requiring 2+ years of PCU experience and NC or compact RN licensure.

• 28-bed Progressive Care Unit (20 telemetry, 8 step-down beds) in a hospital setting
• Adult cardiac and med-surg patient mix including CAD, CHF, and NSTEMI
• Patient ratio of 1:4-5 with 3-4 admissions per day
• Fast-paced environment suited for strong critical thinkers
• Night shift schedule from 7:00pm to 7:00am
• 4 weekend shifts required within a 6-week schedule
• On-call requirement of 1 shift per pay period
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• 0.9 FTE with 12-hour shifts, 4 days per week

Requirements

• Active RN license in North Carolina or compact license
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
• NIHSS and CPI-A certifications required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit experience required
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN required; BSN or MSN preferred
• Strong complex problem-solving and interdisciplinary collaboration skills

Additional Information

• Coordinate and deliver patient care using the nursing process under the direction of the Nurse Manager/Director
• Perform bedside point-of-care testing as part of the patient care plan
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate and plan patient care
• Assess patient and family learning needs and provide relevant education
• Participate in discharge planning and identify high-risk patients early
• Promote a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment
• Opportunities for professional growth including PCCN certification, clinical ladder, and BSN/MSN support
• Give and receive feedback to support unit performance improvement goals
