Description
American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an LTAC night shift position requiring 2+ years of MS/Tele experience and NC or compact RN licensure.
Details
- Long Term Acute Care (LTAC) unit within a long term care hospital setting
- 66 staffed bed facility
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required within scope to like units, including hospital or sister campus depending on booking
- Typical patient ratio of 1:5
- Uses Epic charting system
- MS/Tele, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, and Telemetry work settings
Requirements
- Active RN license (NC state or compact) currently in hand - pending licenses not accepted
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele nursing experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- LTAC experience preferred
- Required skills include IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and starting/maintaining IVs
- Respiratory skills including care of ventilated patients, chest tube management, and interpretation of ABGs
- Cardiac monitoring skills including interpretation of dysrhythmias and telemetry monitoring
- Wound care and wound vac management experience
- Isolation precautions and PPE knowledge required
- Epic EMR experience required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care to long term acute care patients requiring MS/Tele level monitoring and interventions
- Manage patients requiring cardiac and vasoactive drip monitoring, PCA, and heparin protocols
- Perform continuous bladder irrigation and pre/post hemodialysis management as needed
- Scrub color requirement: royal blue and white
- Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the main campus to be eligible as a traveler
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- RTO is limited per manager's discretion, with only 1 holiday approved during the assignment
- Extensions are limited to twice for night shift assignments
- Previous employees must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year to return as a travel nurse
- System has a 2 contract limit, requiring a 6-month gap before reapplying after reaching the limit
- Advanced EKG exam required as part of compliance for this specialty
