Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a night shift position at a Level II Trauma Center with a Level III NICU, requiring at least 2 years of experience.
Details
- Level II Trauma Center, Level III NICU, and Primary Stroke Center hospital setting
- Respiratory unit serving all patient types throughout the hospital, including NICU patients for NICU RT positions
- Patient ratios dependent on staffing
- Adult general and critical care skills required for general RT positions
- NICU RT positions require ground transport and Nitric Oxide administration experience, with transport experience preferred
- Level III NICU experience required within the past 12 months for NICU RT positions
- Uses Cerner EMR, Omnicell medication dispensing, Spacelabs monitors, and PB 840, PB 980, Drager VN500, LTV, and Airvo ventilators
- 12-hour night shifts, 7:00pm start, 36 hours per week
- Shift times of 7a-7p or 7p-7a
- Every other weekend rotation
- Voluntary on-call schedule
- Floats to any like unit or patient location, and NICU therapists will also work with adults
Requirements
- RRT preferred, CRT considered with at least 2 years of experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- BLS and NRP required for NICU positions
- ACLS/APLS preferred
- Cerner or Epic EMR experience required for first-time travelers
- First-time travelers considered with at least 2 years of experience and Cerner or Epic experience
- License required if applicable
- One reference required from a charge position or above within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory therapy services across adult and/or NICU patient populations depending on position
- Work as part of the hospital's respiratory care team
- Orientation includes 24 hours of classroom time and 24 hours on the unit for new or returning travelers gone 1+ years
- Rehire orientation length depends on last date worked at facility
- One major and one minor seasonal holiday coverage expected per policy
- Up to 7 days of time off can be pre-approved, excluding blackout dates
- Scrubs of any color accepted except bright or neon colors
- Free parking available in parking deck
- 60-mile radius rule applies; local candidates not accepted
- Alabama license not required to submit, but ETA for licensure should be provided
- Former staff must wait 6 months before being considered as a traveler
