Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac ICU night shift position requiring AL or compact RN license and 2 years of experience.
Details
- Work in an 8-bed high acuity Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) within a hospital setting
- Provide complex monitoring and treatment for adult cardiac patients
- Receive patients from Cath Lab, ED, and Acute Care areas requiring specialized cardiac care
- Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- 36 or 48 hours per week accepted
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage required
- Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals
- Uses Meditech EMR system
Requirements
- Active RN license (Alabama State or Compact) required, temporary or pending licenses not accepted
- Associate's degree in nursing required
- Current certifications: AHA ACLS, AHA BLS, and AHA NIH (or Red Cross equivalent)
- PALS certification preferred for pediatric unit assignments
- 2 years of RN experience required; candidates with 18 months of experience under the highest level of professional license may be considered
- 1 recent year of experience in cardiac specialty required

- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team to achieve optimal patient outcomes
- Exhibit high levels of professional competency in a fast-paced, high acuity environment
- Complete an on-site cardiac skills test in addition to an online pre-test
- Virtual orientation includes competency-based modules
- Dress code requires solid navy scrubs
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no mileage restrictions
- Parking available on-site
