Description
American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist with 2+ years of experience for a Level II Trauma Center IR unit offering advanced angiography and interventional procedures.

- >Work in an Interventional Radiology unit located within the operating room, featuring 3 single plane IR rooms, 1 biplane room, and 1 hybrid room
- Additional procedures performed in a radiology room and CT suite
- Team includes 2 Interventional Radiologists, 1 Neuro Interventionalist, 1-2 Vascular Surgeons, and 1 PA/NP per day
- Procedures include cerebral angiography and intervention, stroke intervention, angiography and intervention of all body parts except the heart, Y90, chemoembolization, cryoablation, venography and intervention, biopsies (fluoro, CT, or ultrasound guided), venous access (ports, dialysis catheters, central lines), gastrostomy, and various drain placements (biliary, nephrostomy, abscess)
- Schedule is 4x10 hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
- On-call requirement of 5-7 days per month with weekend coverage only for on-call
- No floating required between like units for this assignment
- Uses Siemens equipment and PACS system
- Charting completed in Epic
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Interventional Radiology required
- Current BLS and ARRT (R) certification required
- ACLS and ARRT (VI) certifications preferred
- Washington State license required if applicable
- Epic EMR experience required
- Required skills include venous access, angiograms, and nephrograms
- Preferred skills include C-arm operation and biopsy procedures
- Contrast administration experience required
- Preferred experience with ablations and kyphoplasty procedures
- First-time travelers accepted with at least 2 years of experience
Additional Information
- Perform equipment set up, access site prep, room circulation, and sterile field maintenance during procedures
- Work in a Level II Trauma Center providing outpatient, IR, ER, and inpatient services
- Facility has 571 total staffed beds across both campuses
- Scrubs may be any color except reddish orange
- Facility-paid parking provided
- Local candidates are not accepted for this position
- Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
- Candidates may be asked to float within the hospital or to a nearby sister facility
- Must be willing to commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler
