Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an IMC (Intermediate Care/Stepdown) position requiring telemetry, vent, and transplant experience along with a WI or compact RN license.
Details
- Work in a Level I/II trauma teaching hospital across two IMC units: D6/5 Acute Med/Progressive Care and B4/3 Thoracic
- Care for telemetry, oncology, cardiac, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown patient populations
- 13-week assignment with night shift, 3x12-hour schedule (7:00pm-7:30am)
- Monday through Friday schedule with every other weekend and some holidays required
- Floating required as needed across units
- Epic EMR used
Requirements
- Active WI RN license or compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA only)
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty
- Experience in an Academic Level I or II trauma center or similar size hospital required
- Telemetry, oncology, cardiac, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience required
- Ventilator and post-transplant care experience required
- Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to starting, including 100% identification of lethal rhythms and an 80% or higher overall passing score
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provide cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and utilize rapid response/code teams as needed
- Deliver care to patients requiring ventilator management, tracheostomy care, and non-invasive airway support
- Perform IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and blood product administration
- Manage post-transplant patients and related complex care needs
- Located at a Magnet-designated academic medical center ranked as Wisconsin's #1 hospital
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
- Holiday coverage required for some holidays
- Parking permit required if parking onsite, with alternative transportation options available
