Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an IMC position at a Level I/II trauma teaching hospital, requiring telemetry, ventilator, and transplant experience along with a WI or compact RN license.
Details
- Work in the IMC Acute Med/Progressive Care unit (D6/5) and IMC Thoracic unit (B4/3)
- Care for telemetry, oncology, cardiac, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown patient populations
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00pm-7:30am
- Monday through Friday schedule with every other weekend required
- Some holiday coverage required
- Floating required as needed
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active WI RN license or compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA only)
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty
- Experience in an Academic Level I or II trauma center or similar size hospital required
- Trauma Level I and Level II experience required
- Telemetry oncology, cardiac, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience required
- Ventilator management and post-transplant care experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Must pass a telemetry competency exam prior to starting assignment
Additional Information
- Provide cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response including Rapid Response/Code team activation
- Perform central line, peripheral line, PICC line, and arterial line care/management
- Administer blood products and manage IV therapy
- Provide respiratory care including ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and non-invasive airway management
- Care for patients with renal, neurological, gastrointestinal, and orthopedic conditions as part of a broad IMC skill set
- Facility is a Magnet®-designated academic teaching hospital and Level I/II trauma center
- Must live within a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered; local candidates are not accepted
- Telemetry exam must be passed within two attempts, with a required cardiac interpretation course certificate if a third attempt is needed
