Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an IMC/Stepdown position requiring telemetry, oncology, and cardiac experience with a WI or compact RN license.

Details

• Work across two units: D6/5 IMC Acute Med/Progressive Care and B4/3 IMC Thoracic unit
• Patient population includes telemetry, oncology, cardiac, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown cases
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating required as needed
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active WI RN license or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty
• Academic Level I or II trauma center or similar size hospital experience required
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience required
• Ventilator management and transplant care experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to starting, including 100% identification of lethal rhythms and an 80% or higher overall score
• Up to two attempts allowed for telemetry exam; a third attempt requires completion of a cardiac interpretation review course

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and post-transplant care
• Skills desired include arterial line management, central and peripheral line care, chest tube management, and ventilator patient care
• Experience with high flow nasal cannula, BiPAP/CPAP, and tracheostomy care preferred
• Holiday coverage required
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Located at a Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital ranked as Wisconsin's #1 hospital
• Parking permit may be required for onsite parking, with alternative transportation options available
