Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring high-risk L&D expertise and a valid WA or Compact RN license.
Details
- Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma teaching hospital
- Care for high-risk labor patients, antepartum patients, and those with pre-eclampsia, diabetes, multiples, and VBAC/TOLAC cases
- Manage active labor including induction/augmentation and maternal emergencies
- Labor patient ratio of 1:2 and Antepartum ratio of 1:3
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:00)
- Some weekend shifts required
- Floating between units and sister facilities required
- No on-call responsibilities
- 48-hour work weeks approved
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active WA or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
- Required certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, FHM, NRP
- Epic EMR experience required
- Experience with 1:2 patient ratios required
- Able to function independently in L&D setting
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive antepartum, labor, delivery, and postpartum care including fetal monitoring, high-risk delivery assistance, and C-section support
- Perform sterile vaginal exams, NST/OCT testing, and manage IUPC and fetal monitoring equipment
- Administer medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, antihypertensives, and insulin drips
- Provide neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and neonatal resuscitation
- Care for patients with complex conditions including HELLP syndrome, placenta previa, preterm labor, and uterine rupture
- Support postpartum recovery including lactation support, wound care, and hemorrhage management
- Assist with surgical procedures such as cervical cerclage, D&C, and tubal ligation
- Travelers must be willing to float between sister facilities within the region
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel rate; local candidates accepted at a lower rate
- Former Providence permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
- RTO requests must be submitted upfront at time of application, as post-submission requests may not be accommodated
- No fee parking available at this teaching hospital facility
