Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a day-shift travel position requiring 3+ years of experience in a tertiary, teaching hospital, Level 1 trauma setting.
Details
- >Works within the Respiratory Therapy department covering the entire facility as part of a team of 14-16 RRTs
- Handles varied patient populations including acute care, critical care, and pediatrics
- Acute patient ratio of 1:25 and critical care ratio of 1:8
- Uses ventilators including Drager V500 and VN500, Hamilton T1 and C1, Respironics V30 and V60, Trilogy line, Airvo, and Vapotherm
- EMR system used is EPIC
- Day shift hours from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- On-call requirement of 2 hours notice for oncoming shift
- Floating required as RRT to NICU/PICU, acute care pediatrics, ED, and adult acute and critical care units
- 25-mile float policy between facilities as needed
Requirements
- Active RRT license required (license required if applicable)
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience required
- BLS required, ACLS preferred
- NRP required for NICU coverage
- Tertiary, teaching hospital experience required
- Level 1 trauma center experience required
- NICU/PICU cardiothoracic experience preferred
- EPIC EMR experience preferred
- Driver's License required for consideration
- 2 professional references required
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory therapy services across a varied patient population in a tertiary, teaching, Level 1 trauma hospital setting
- Work as part of a collaborative respiratory therapy team covering the entire facility
- Flexible team player with strong communication skills preferred
- Scrubs are provided or dress code is flexible
- Local candidates are considered; candidates within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility are considered local with adjusted pay rates
- Local travelers are not eligible for renewals or extensions
- Candidates who have worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months should disclose this at time of consideration
- RTO should be kept to a minimum, with 3-4 days considered reasonable for a 13-week contract at manager's discretion
- Air pods, laptops, and cell phone usage are prohibited while on the unit
