Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med-Surg/Step Down Flex Pool RN requiring an active HI RN license and 2+ years of experience to float between medical, surgical, and cardiovascular units.
Details
- Flex RN role floating between Medical, Laulima (Surgical Acute), and Cardiovascular units
- Medical unit has 77 beds with 1:6 ratio on days/eves and 1:8 on nights
- Laulima (Surgical Acute) unit has 18 beds with a 1:6 ratio
- Cardiovascular unit has 15 beds with a 1:4 ratio
- Ratios may vary due to unexpected staff leaves
- Uses Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, and chest tubes
- 12-hour day shifts from 0645 to 1915
- Scheduled 36 hours per week following the first week of orientation
- No guarantee of hours
- 15-week assignment length
- Floating to Medical, Laulima, and Cardiovascular units required, with Cardiovascular floating occurring rarely
Requirements
- Active Hawaii RN license required by start of assignment
- 2-10 years of nursing experience required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, and ENPC certifications preferred
- Med-Surg and Step Down experience required
- Documented proof of immunity required; medical and religious exemptions not accepted
Additional Information
- Provide nursing care across medical, surgical, and cardiovascular patient populations as part of a flex float pool
- Unit-specific orientation time provided for each assigned department
- Must report to Employee Health 48-72 hours prior to assignment start, requiring arrival in Hawaii by the Thursday before a Monday start to attend a Friday morning appointment
- Professional nursing attire required, including clean scrubs
