Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring Level I trauma experience, circulating experience, and a NM or compact RN license.
Details
- Operating Room unit within a Level I Trauma, teaching, children's hospital providing short-term acute care
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Night shift, 4x12 hours, 19:00-7:30
- Required to work 2 out of 3 holiday bundles (Thanksgiving & the day after, Christmas Eve & Christmas Day, NYE & NYD)
- Weekend requirement of 2-3 shifts per month
- On-call required for day shift, consisting of 24-36 hours per month
- No floating required outside of scope
- Uses Cerner charting system
- Purple scrubs provided
Requirements
- Active RN license (New Mexico or Compact) currently in hand or pending accepted
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 3 years of OR nursing experience required
- Level I Trauma experience required
- Circulating experience required
- Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
- First-time travelers accepted
- No RQI certifications accepted
Additional Information
- Circulate OR cases across specialties including general surgery, gynecology, urology, orthopedics, neurology, and trauma cases
- Assist with emergency management protocols including code response and malignant hyperthermia readiness
- No fee parking available onsite
- RTO requests greater than 7 days require approval
- No local candidates accepted within a 100-mile radius
- COVID vaccine is optional; facility requires reporting of vaccination status or declination
- 6-month system break required after 1 year or 4 consecutive assignments, whichever comes first
