Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for an ICU position requiring 2 years of ICU experience and travel nursing experience.

• 10-bed ICU
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Night shift, 3x12 or 4x12 (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• Block scheduling available
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS and TNCC preferred
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, ABG interpretation, and airway suctioning
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips, continuous IV sedation, and procedural sedation
• Experience with CVA/acute stroke management and cardiac monitoring/dysrhythmia management
• Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization care and pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive ICU nursing care to critically ill patients with multisystem organ dysfunction
• Manage patients requiring advanced respiratory, cardiovascular, renal, and neurological interventions
• Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties will not be considered
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility will not be accepted as locals
• Former staff members must wait at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of consideration
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
• Travel pairs or groups will not be considered
• First-time travelers may not be considered for this position based on experience requirements
