Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring at least 2 years of ER experience and current ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications.

Details

• Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital setting
• General ED treating combined adult and pediatric patients
• Patient ratio of 1:4-5
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 7:30
• 13-week assignment length
• Every other weekend or 2 weekends per month required
• Uses Meditech EMR and Pyxis medication system
• Floating required in accordance with facility floating policies and clinical experience

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS
• Preferred certifications: CPI, ENPC, and TNCC
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Certifications and licensure must not expire within 45 days of the start date
• Cerner charting experience preferred but not required
• Skills required in respiratory care, ventilated patient management, medication administration, continuous IV sedation, and procedural sedation administration/monitoring
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and triage

Additional Information

• Responsible for triage, cardiac monitoring, and emergency response for adult and pediatric patients
• RTO requests are not accommodated during major holidays and surrounding holiday weeks, including Valentine's Day, Local Spring Break, Easter, Mother's Day, Memorial Day, Father's Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Local Fall Break, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
• Holiday RTO requests may be addressed with the manager after arrival onsite using the RTO form
• RTO cannot occur within 14 days of the start date and cannot exceed 7 days
• Local candidates accepted within 75 miles of the facility at a reduced rate
• Candidates must live greater than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rate, with proof of residency required within 48 hours of acceptance
• Former perm staff cannot return to the same campus within 24 months, but may return to a different campus within the health system after 12 months
• Related or married travel team members cannot be assigned to the same unit
• Non-billable training modules are completed during orientation and annually, with hours varying by department
