Description
American Traveler is hiring a Neuro ICU RN for a 30-bed unit requiring strong ICU and stroke experience along with an active MO or compact RN license.
Details
- 30-bed Neuro ICU (NSICU) setting
- Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-07:30)
- Every other weekend required
- Mandatory floating to ICU and Med Surg units
- 50% holiday and weekend coverage required
- Cerner charting preferred
Requirements
- Active MO or Compact RN license required (must be in hand, no pending licenses)
- Minimum 2 years ICU experience with strong Neuro checklist required
- Stroke experience required
- BLS and ACLS certification required; NIHSS preferred
- CPI certification preferred (Blue Card required for Behavioral Health RNs and LCSWs)
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Skilled in EVD, ICP monitoring, post neurosurgery management, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury care
- Experience with arterial line management, central/PICC line care, ventilator management, and titration of cardiac/vasoactive drips
- Able to lift and move objects over 20 lbs and remain highly active throughout shifts
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to neurologically complex ICU patients, including stroke, EVD, and post-neurosurgical cases
- Float requirements include coverage of ICU and Med Surg units as needed
- Work in a 24/7 healthcare facility with exposure to contagious illnesses and inclement weather conditions
- Complete required non-billable orientation and annual training modules (4-6 hours) tracked via Cornerstone
- Maximum 10 days RTO permitted, with no time off during the first week due to orientation
- Travelers may work up to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts (up to 9 months) before a mandatory 6-month break is required before returning to this facility
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for consideration
- Candidates residing 51-74 miles away may be considered at a local pay rate
- Re-orientation not required for returning travelers within 18 months of their last assignment
