Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Long Term Care position requiring a WV or Compact RN license and at least 2 years of experience.

Requirements

• Active RV or Compact RN license required (pending license accepted for consideration)
• Minimum of 2 years RN experience required
• BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS required be applicable to unit)
• Communityience in a requirements-preferred but not required
• CommunityC experience preferred
• Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
• Cerner charting system experience required
• Minimum of 2 Manager and or Charge Nurse references from the past 2 years required

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to a Long Term Care resident population, including admission, discharge, and end-of-life care
• Perform wound care, dressing changes, and pressure ulcer prevention and assessment
• Administer medications including IV, IM, SQ, and oral routes as well as manage central lines and PICC care
• Support neurological and orthopedic patient needs, including stroke assessment, seizure precautions, and mobility assistance
• Monitor and manage respiratory conditions including oxygen therapy, suctioning, and tracheostomy care
• Manage endocrine and renal care including blood glucose monitoring, insulin administration, and catheter care
• Any scrub color permitted
• Flu vaccine required for consideration; medical exemptions reviewed, religious exemptions not accepted
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility for standard travel rate eligibility; those between 75-100 miles may be considered case-by-case at the same rate
• Local candidates within 75 miles may be considered at a reduced local rate, limited to two 13-week contracts
• Former permanent employees must wait 2 years from last employment date before returning as a traveler
• Current employees of the affiliated health system (including CAMC Health Systems, Mon Health Systems, Davis Medical Center, Broaddus Hospital, Webster Memorial Hospital, Grafton City Hospital, Highland-Clarksburg Hospital, and Minnie Hamilton Health System) are not eligible for travel contracts within the system
