Description

American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool RN with PICU and NICU experience for a 13-week day shift assignment at a teaching hospital.

Details

• Float pool position covering PICU, NICU, peds med-surg, peds PACU, peds ED boarders, and postpartum/mother-baby units
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:00
• 36 or 48 hours per week; block scheduling cannot be guaranteed
• 13-week assignment with every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must float within scope of practice per facility float policy

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license (pending license accepted)
• BLS, NRP, PALS, and ACLS certifications required
• Dr. Brown's Infant-Driven Feeding Certificate required (can submit with certification pending)
• Minimum 2 years PICU experience required
• Must be comfortable with NICU, acute pediatrics, and pediatric ED patient populations
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Prior travel experience required, though NICU/PICU float pool experience may be considered in lieu
• Epic charting system experience required
• Peds PACU experience highly preferred
• APHON, CPHON, and OCN certifications preferred
• BSN preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing support across multiple pediatric specialty units as a float pool RN
• Maximum of 40 hours RTO per 13-week contract, with no additional RTO approved after offer acceptance
• No RTO can be approved during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
• Any pre-start vacation time must be disclosed early to coordinate an appropriate start date
• External travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days at the facility
• Previous permanent staff or internal travelers must have a 1-year separation and leadership approval before returning
• First-time travelers may be considered if they have relevant NICU/PICU float pool experience
