Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Telemetry unit position requiring an active MA RN license and 2+ years of telemetry nursing experience.

Details

• Hospital-based Telemetry unit
• Cardiac telemetry and MS/Tele patient population
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 18:45-7:15
• Every other weekend required
• May float to the ED for boarder patients as needed
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active MA RN license in hand required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• BLS certification required, ACLS preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
• Experience with chest tube management, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, and tracheostomy care
• Experience with continuous bladder irrigation, hemodialysis management, and renal failure care
• Experience with wound care/wound vac, IV insulin protocols, and pre/post cardiac cath care
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher

Additional Information

• Provide cardiac telemetry monitoring and nursing care on a hospital telemetry unit
• Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations; must be able to work all 7 days
• Required to complete a pass/fail Telemetry test and a pass/fail Medication exam during orientation, each requiring a passing score to remain on assignment
• Complete pre-start and orientation modules, with modules also required annually
• Candidates should be mindful of limited RTO availability during summer months on this unit
• Up to 14 days of RTO may be submitted for review, with no RTO permitted during the first week of assignment
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate within a 200-mile radius
• Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
• Candidates with prior disciplinary actions on their nursing license are not eligible for consideration
