Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced OR RN for a fast-paced academic teaching hospital, requiring 2+ years of OR experience and OTO experience.
Details
- Work in the Operating Room department of an academic teaching hospital
- Average daily census of 50-75 with 28 operating rooms
- Diverse surgical patient population including orthopedic sports medicine, minimally invasive arthroscopic and laparoscopic procedures, robotics, general surgery, GYN, urology, and plastics
- Experience with neuro, spine, thoracic, and vascular cases a plus
- Uses EPIC charting system
- Day shift schedule, 4x10-hour shifts from 0645-1715
- Weekend work required, including Saturday shifts
- Floating within the hospital required, including to other specialties during slower periods
- No floating to sister hospitals
- Call obligations to be discussed with the manager
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required, preferably in a larger OR setting
- OTO (Otolaryngology) experience required
- Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
- EPIC charting experience preferred
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
- COVID-19 vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
Additional Information
- Provide circulating and scrub nursing support across a wide range of surgical specialties in a high-acuity academic environment
- May be asked to circulate cardiac and neuro cases as needed
- Scrubs are provided for OR personnel in any color
- Magnet-designated teaching facility
- RTO should be kept to a minimum and cannot be requested during the first 2 weeks of the assignment, with a maximum of 1 week off
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no mile radius restriction
- Former UW staff must have a minimum 18-month separation from the facility before returning as a traveler
