Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (CRT/RRT) with 2-3 years of Adult, Pediatric, and Level II NICU experience for a night shift position.

Details

• Works in Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics unit within Emergency Department, NICU, and Pediatrics settings
• Community hospital setting
• Level II NICU patient population
• Cares for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients
• Patient ratio of 1:25
• Night shift, 4x12 hour shifts from 18:30 to 07:00
• Set schedule of Thursday through Sunday
• Will float within scope of practice to meet facility needs
• No on-call requirements
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• CRT or RRT required
• BLS required
• ACLS, NRP, and PALS preferred
• Minimum 2-3 years of Respiratory Therapy experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Experience with ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and SIMV
• Experience with neonatal/pediatric equipment including Bubble CPAP and direct intubation
• Experience drawing and interpreting arterial blood gases
• Skilled in airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and suctioning
• Experience with tracheostomy care and management
• First-time travelers accepted
• MD license required if applicable

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care to adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients including those with ARDS, RSV, and respiratory distress syndrome
• Perform medication delivery via aerosol, MDI, and nebulizer for medications such as Albuterol, Atrovent, and Racemic epinephrine
• Assist with bronchoscopy and manage fresh tracheostomy patients
• Perform chest physiotherapy including vest therapy
• Conduct patient transport including inter-departmental and ambulance transport
• Manage oxygen therapy delivery including HFNC, T-piece, and trach collar
• Perform capillary and arterial blood gas draws and interpretation
• Expect to work some holidays and weekends
• One RTO request permitted, must be approved prior to assignment
• Accepts local candidates within 50 miles at a reduced bill rate
• Candidates outside the local radius considered at standard travel rate
