Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position on night shift, requiring 2+ years of L&D experience and current MN RN licensure.

Details

• Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital setting
• Patient population includes antepartum, labor & delivery, LDRP, Level I nursery, and mother/baby care
• 13-week contract assignment
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00
• Uses Meditech charting system

Requirements

• Active RN license with the Minnesota Board of Nursing required
• Current certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NRP
• Basic Electronic Fetal Monitoring certification required
• Workplace Violence education required
• 2 to 5 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Meditech charting experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood and blood products
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and emergency care, including adult and neonatal arrest
• Experience with high-risk OB conditions such as pre-eclampsia, placenta previa, and VBAC management
• Proficiency in fetal monitoring including external and internal fetal monitoring and IUPC placement
• STABLE certification preferred

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum stages
• Assist with vaginal deliveries, C-section recovery, and neonatal resuscitation in the delivery room
• Administer medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives as needed
• Support breastfeeding and lactation, and follow baby-friendly protocols
• Manage pain interventions including epidural anesthesia and opioid administration
• Care for patients experiencing postpartum hemorrhage, multiple births, and pregnancy-induced hypertension
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travelers
• No set policy restricting return staff from applying
• First-time travelers may be considered as travel experience is not required
