Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring prior PCU experience and Epic charting proficiency.
Details
- Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a hospital, focused on lower acuity cardiac patients
- Cardiac experience preferred
- Estimated patient ratio of 1:3 to 1:4
- Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
- Weekday and some weekend shifts required
- Rotating holiday coverage required
- Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity level
- Uses Epic EMR system
Requirements
- Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required, NIHSS preferred
- Minimum 1 year of PCU experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- IV start and telemetry skills required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role and the second acceptable from a Charge RN (no coworker references accepted)
Additional Information
- Provide nursing care to lower acuity cardiac patients on a stepdown/PCU unit
- Monitor for and manage cardiac dysrhythmias using telemetry equipment
- Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, and line management as needed
- Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements promptly after signing contract due to strict compliance timelines
- Locals accepted at the same rate
- Former employees eligible for a travel assignment only after being away from the facility for 6 months or more
- Current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible for a travel position
- RTO must be submitted and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
- Travel experience is required for this position
