Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a 6-week travel assignment requiring NRP certification and prior labor management experience.

Details

• Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital environment with 14 labor beds, 2 ORs, 6 recovery bays, and 8 antepartum beds
• Unit staffed with 1 charge nurse and 3-4 RNs plus 1-2 CSTs per shift
• Patient ratios of 1:2 for labor and 1:4 for antepartum
• Uses GE EFM and CPN equipment
• EMR system is Meditech/Centricity Perinatal
• 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Rotating weekend requirement
• Floating required to Antepartum and Postpartum (for OB assignments only)
• Typical procedures include vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, bilateral tubal ligations, D&C, uterine tamponade device placement, and magnesium and pitocin drip titration

Requirements

• Active RN license (TX or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, NRP (Advanced 9th Edition), and Intermittent Fetal Monitoring (AWHONN or NCCEFM, intermediate or advanced)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Labor and Delivery experience required
• Strong labor management skills required
• Ability to circulate in the L&D OR preferred
• No gaps in work history equaling 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)
• One professional reference required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring, antepartum, and postpartum patients
• Assist with and support vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and related OB procedures
• Best fit for candidates who are positive, compassionate, and flexible
• Scrub color/attire required is royal blue
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
