Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Cardiac Surgical ICU/CSU position requiring 2 years of recent CVICU experience and an active AL or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit (CSICU), a 4-bed unit caring for adult and geriatric patients with cardiac, thoracic, vascular, and other surgical conditions requiring critical care
• Provide post-operative recovery care and complex invasive hemodynamic monitoring
• Also support the Cardiac Surgical Unit (CSU), an 8-bed stepdown unit for patients recovering from cardiac, thoracic, or vascular surgery
• Both units are supported by a dedicated cardiovascular educator
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Every holiday required
• Willing to float to other units and hospitals as needed
• Accepts 36 or 48 hours per week
• Uses Meditech EMR

Requirements

• Active RN license for the State of Alabama or compact license required (no temporary licenses accepted)
• Associate degree in nursing required
• Current AHA BLS or Red Cross BLS certification required
• Current AHA NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• AHA PALS certification preferred if working in a pediatric unit
• 2 years of recent experience required, including 1 year of recent experience within the CVICU specialty
