Description
American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Cardiac Surgical ICU/CSU position requiring 2 years of recent CVICU experience and an active AL or compact RN license.
Details
- Work in the Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit (CSICU), a 4-bed unit caring for adult and geriatric patients with cardiac, thoracic, vascular, and other surgical conditions requiring critical care
- Provide post-operative recovery care and complex invasive hemodynamic monitoring
- Also support the Cardiac Surgical Unit (CSU), an 8-bed stepdown unit for patients recovering from cardiac, thoracic, or vascular surgery
- Both units are supported by a dedicated cardiovascular educator
- Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Every other weekend required
- Every holiday required
- Willing to float to other units and hospitals as needed
- Accepts 36 or 48 hours per week
- Uses Meditech EMR
Requirements
- Active RN license for the State of Alabama or compact license required (no temporary licenses accepted)
- Associate degree in nursing required
- Current AHA BLS or Red Cross BLS certification required
- Current AHA NIH Stroke Scale certification required
- AHA PALS certification preferred if working in a pediatric unit
- 2 years of recent experience required, including 1 year of recent experience within the CVICU specialty

- Team is dedicated to high standards of professional competency in critical care

- All ICU RNs are required to complete an on-site test in addition to an online pre-test
- Virtual orientation includes competency-based training modules
- Solid navy scrub color dress code required
