Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neonatal ICU night shift position requiring NRP certification and prior NICU experience.

Details

• Work in a Community Level 3 NICU with 14 beds in an acute care hospital setting
• Patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:3 depending on acuity
• Common diagnoses include rule-out sepsis, preemie, late preterm, IDGDM, and NAS, with no surgical cases
• Neonates may be discharged home from the NICU or transferred to pediatrics
• Locked unit with a charge nurse on staff but no nurse aides
• Neonatologist or pediatrician on call 24/7, with RT and pharmacy also available 24/7
• Uses Cerner EMR and Phillips telemetry monitoring
• Ventilator management required as part of unit care
• Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts from 7p-7a
• Every other weekend work requirement
• Holiday coverage required as part of core rotation
• No floating required, though eligible for early floating if needed
• Floor-specific orientation includes 3 shifts on the unit

Requirements

• Active CA RN license (Standard or Compact) currently in hand
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Current certifications: BLS and NRP
• COVID vaccination required
• Prior NICU experience required
• BSN not required for this position
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

Additional Information

• Navy blue scrubs required
• Provide direct nursing care to neonatal patients in a NICU setting, including ventilator management and coordination with on-call neonatology and pediatric teams
