Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cath Lab position requiring 5 years of experience and Trauma Level II hospital experience with an active CA RN license.
Details
- Work in the Cath Lab department of a hospital, including diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab and interventional radiology settings
- Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 5x8-hour shifts (7:00 AM-3:30 PM or 7:30 AM-4:00 PM)
- Requires three call shifts within a two-week period
- Uses Epic charting system
- Candidates will float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed
Requirements
- Active CA RN license in hand
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- 5 years of RN experience required
- Trauma Level II hospital experience required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Proficiency in cardiac cath lab procedures such as diagnostic and interventional catheterizations, PCI, TAVR, cardiac stent placement, and IABP/Impella insertion
- Experience with electrophysiology procedures including cardioversion, pacemaker insertion, and LAA closure
- Skilled in vascular access and IV therapy, including central line and PICC line care
- Knowledge of procedural sedation monitoring, radiation safety, and emergency medication administration
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required
- Copies of required certifications must be provided for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include circulating and scrubbing for cardiac cath lab and electrophysiology procedures, monitoring patients during procedural sedation, and managing dysrhythmias
- Must be willing to work 2 of the 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
- Travelers must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for the travel rate; local candidates within the radius may be accepted at a lower bill rate
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- Minimal RTO is preferred for this assignment
- First-time travelers are not being considered for this position
