Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a SC or compact license and 2 years of tele experience.

Details

• Work in the MS/Tele unit of an acute care hospital
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6
• Day shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 6:45a-7:15p
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within scope to meet facility needs, including between like units and sister facilities
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or compact license required in hand prior to start
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Tele competency required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line care, PICC line management, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care in a Level III Trauma acute care hospital with 286 staffed beds
• Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
• Royal blue scrub color required
• No cost parking available
• First-time travelers accepted
• Previous perm or PRN staff must be separated from the health system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Candidates must reside outside a 60-mile radius for full travel consideration; local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis
• Block scheduling requests may be submitted for approval but are not guaranteed
• During hurricane season (June through November, peak August-September), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
