Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN with a valid CA RN license for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring critical care skills and ACLS/BLS certification.
Details
- Work in the ICU of an acute care hospital setting
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 18:45-7:15)
- Every other weekend required (Saturday/Sunday)
- Holiday coverage required as needed
- Epic charting system required
- Care for critically ill patients requiring ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, and multisystem organ support
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required
- PALS certification required within 180 days of hire
- TNCC certification required within 180 days of hire
- NIHSS certification required within 90 days of hire
- Epic EMR experience required
- Trauma Level II experience preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
- Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and respiratory/thoracic care required
- Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips required
- Experience managing continuous IV sedation and neuromuscular blockade required
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and 12-lead EKG required
- Experience with CVA/acute stroke management and neurological critical care required
- Preferred skills include CABG post-op care, Swan Ganz monitoring, FloTrac/Vigileo monitoring, and GI surgery care
- Two supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care including assessment, care planning, and coordination of care for critically ill patients
- Deliver holistic, individualized nursing care incorporating psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors
- Collaborate with physicians, patients, and families to ensure timely and effective communication
- Adhere to hospital policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements
- Must reside within a 50-mile radius to be eligible for local candidate rate
- Limited RTO approved during the contract
- Only one holiday request approved per contract
- Returning employees must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year to be eligible to return as a traveler
- First-time travelers considered for this role given prior travel experience preference
