Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift position requiring 2+ years of experience and a WI or compact RN license.

Details

• Work on the Medical/Surgical floor (2N/3N) of an undesignated trauma level hospital
• Unit has 32 beds with typical census of 10-20 patients
• Patient ratio of 4-6 patients per RN
• Adult and geriatric patient population with common diagnoses including sepsis, pneumonia, heart failure, and renal failure
• Care for post-operative patients including back, joint, and general surgery cases
• Uses Baxter IV pumps and GE monitors
• Meditech EHR system used
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Weekend rotation typically every third weekend
• No call requirements
• May occasionally float as a sitter to the Senior Behavioral Health Unit or ICU on a rare basis

Requirements

• Active RN license (WI or Compact) currently in hand
• BLS certification required, ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical RN experience required
• Post-surgical experience preferred
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
• Active Nursys licensure verification required at time of consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to adult and geriatric Med/Surg patients including post-operative and medically complex cases
• Must maintain flexibility and strong teamwork skills to support unit operations
• Scrub colors accepted include navy blue, royal blue, Caribbean blue, black, and gray
• Undershirts must be black, white, or gray with scrub jackets required over undershirts
• Hoodies, sweatshirts, and fleece are not permitted
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel assignment
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full-time while on assignment
