Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring 2+ years of Neuro ICU experience and a compact or CT RN license.

Details

• Work in the Neuro Intensive Care Unit of a Level I Trauma Center academic medical center
• Average patient ratios of 1:2 on both day and night shifts
• Night shift schedule (4x12 hours, 19:00-7:00)
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active RN license (Compact or CT) required, pending license accepted
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience required
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Skills required: IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care/management, care of ventilated patients, ABG interpretation, continuous IV sedation, CVA/acute stroke management, cardiac monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
• ICP monitoring and post neurosurgery management skills preferred
• 1 professional reference required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to neurologically complex ICU patients including stroke and post-neurosurgical cases
• Work within a large academic medical center and Level I Trauma Center setting
• Travelers may be expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as part of hospital operations
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious or medical exemptions only
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must not have been employed at the facility as permanent staff within the past 2 years to be considered as a traveler
• RTO requests greater than 7 days require additional approval
• Local candidates are not accepted; candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the hospital
