Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Progressive Care/Intermediate Neuroscience & ENT Unit position requiring NC or compact RN licensure and ACLS/NIHSS certification.

Details

• 18-bed Intermediate Neurosciences & ENT Unit within a hospital setting
• Cares for patients with stroke, tumors, epilepsy, spine injury, neuromuscular and neurodegenerative conditions, neurotrauma, CNS infections, and ENT malignancies
• Includes 4 epilepsy monitoring beds
• Day shift schedule from 7:00am to 7:00pm
• 36 hours per week over 3 days per week
• 0.9 FTE position
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Charge and precepting responsibilities included

Requirements

• Active RN license in North Carolina or compact license required
• BLS certification required (AHA or ARC)
• ACLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum of one year of nursing experience required
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing school required
• BSN or MSN preferred

Additional Information

• Provide clinical nursing care to a complex neuroscience and ENT patient population using the nursing process
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
• Participate in patient and family education based on individualized learning needs and readiness
• Assess and address discharge planning needs for patients at high risk or with complex care requirements
• Contribute to unit performance improvement activities and professional development goals
• Promote a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment
• Serve as charge nurse and precept other staff as part of unit responsibilities
• Part of a nationally recognized team delivering compassionate, collaborative care
