Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit float pool position requiring compact/NC RN licensure and ACLS/NIHSS certification.

Details

• Hospital-based float pool position covering Progressive Care/Stepdown units including Surgical, Neuro, Medicine, Cardiac, Cardiovascular, and Burn Center
• May also float to acute care units as needed
• Patient ratios generally 1:3 to 1:4 on PCU/Stepdown units, and 1:5 on acute care units when floating
• Night shift schedule: 7:00pm - 7:00am
• 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
• 0.9 FTE position
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Every other holiday (EOH) required
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active RN license in North Carolina (Standard or Compact) required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience required
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing school required
• BSN or MSN preferred

Additional Information

• Provide competent clinical nursing care in a progressive care/stepdown setting, reporting to the Nurse Manager/Director
• Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process for patients with complex medical needs
• Perform bedside point of care testing as required for patient care plans
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate patient care and promote continuity of care
• Assess and address patient/family discharge planning needs, including psychosocial, educational, and safety considerations
• Participate in unit performance improvement activities and professional growth initiatives
• Promote a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment
