Description
American Traveler is hiring a Sonographer for a Maternal Fetal Medicine clinic, requiring 2+ years of MFM experience and ARDMS-OB certification.
Details
- Outpatient Maternal Fetal Medicine clinic setting with 6 sonography suites
- High-volume clinic performing approximately 1,000 scans monthly
- Patient population includes high-risk pregnancies with diagnoses such as placental accreta/previa, multiples, eclampsia/preeclampsia, congenital heart anomalies, fetal demise, and abnormal fetal growth
- No amniocentesis procedures performed
- Rotational scan schedule with other sonographers, averaging 40-50 patients on the daily schedule
- Uses Cerner EMR and Viewpoint PACS system
- Utilizes Samsung sonography equipment
- Monday through Friday schedule, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with set weekly hours
- No weekend rotation or on-call requirements
- No floating required
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of MFM sonography experience required
- BLS certification required
- ARDMS-OB certification required
- License required if applicable
- Experience performing detailed fetal cardiac views including 4-chamber heart, LVOT, RVOT, aortic arch, ductal arch, SVC-IVC, and 3-vessel view
- Strong communication and empathy skills for discussing sensitive findings with patients
Additional Information
- Perform detailed obstetric sonography exams for high-risk pregnancies, referring abnormal findings to pediatric cardiology as needed
- Work alongside well-tenured MFM sonographers, an offsite reading MD, a medical assistant for rooming, a supervisor/manager, and patient service representatives handling scheduling
- Orientation includes New Employee Orientation (NEO) plus up to 2 weeks of department-specific training depending on skillset
- Clinic closes for major holidays
- RTO requests must be approved through the manager
- Scrubs may be any professional color
- First-time travelers will be considered for this role
