Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ICU/Step-Down ICU night shift position requiring Level 1 Trauma Center ICU experience and an active IL RN license.

Details

• Work in the ICU and Step-Down ICU units of a hospital and trauma center
• Cardiovascular ICU, Critical Care, CVICU, and Neurology ICU sub-specialties within scope
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• 13-week assignment length
• Floating to Step-Down ICU required

Requirements

• Active IL RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Strong ICU experience at a Level 1 Trauma Center required
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with education verification required

Additional Information

• Utilize the nursing process while collaborating with interdisciplinary team members to care for patients
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to approved nursing techniques, policies, and standards of care
• Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient plans of care as prescribed by physicians and hospital policy, including patient and family instruction
• Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance
• Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units and departments supporting the patient's longitudinal plan of care
• Apply critical thinking to patient safety and experience, escalating concerns through the appropriate chain of command as needed
• COVID-19 vaccination required for consideration
