Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab / EP Technologist with 3+ years of Cath Lab experience in diagnostic and interventional structural cardiac procedures.
Details
- Level IV Trauma Center, major teaching hospital and member of the Council of Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems (COTH)
- Cath Lab unit with an average daily census of 35-45 patients
- 1:1 staffing ratios
- Adult cardiology and structural cardiology patient population
- Procedures include LHC, RHC, PCI, CTO, Impella, IABP, ECMO, TPM, shock wave, IVUS, Pneumbra, TAVR, and Watchman with mitral and tricuspid valve procedures anticipated in October
- Uses Siemens Artiz Z & Q radiology equipment, Impella, IABP, Philips Volcano IVUS, and BSC IVUS
- Cerner EHR experience required
- 3x12 hour day shifts from 8:30 AM to 8:30 PM
- One weekend shift per month (Friday evening through Monday morning) every 4-5 weeks
- Call requirements include 2 weekday nights (7 PM-6:30 AM) and weekend call every 4-5 weeks with a 2-hour call-back minimum
- No floating to sister facilities required
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years Cath Lab experience required, including diagnostic and interventional structural procedures
- Current BLS and ACLS certification through AHA required
- ARRT(BD) and ARRT(R) certification required
- License required if applicable; WV or Compact license required, with pending license accepted at submission but active WV license required to start
- RCIS or RCES certification not accepted in lieu of required licensure per WV regulations
- Must have a permanent address more than 100 miles from the facility; candidates 75-100 miles may be considered case-by-case at the same rate
- Minimum of 2 Manager and/or Charge Nurse references from the past 2 years required
- Prior traveling Cath Lab experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
- Skilled in scrub procedures, equipment set up, and room circulator duties
- Proficient in cardiac stent placement, PCI, PTCA, IABP placement/removal, and cardiac implant closure devices
- Ability to interpret dysrhythmias and recognize life-threatening arrhythmias
- Knowledge of infection control, isolation precautions/PPE, and sterile technique
Additional Information
- Perform diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures, including structural heart interventions
- Work in a very busy lab and must be willing to stay until all cases are completed
- Flexible scheduling required to accommodate lab needs
- Two call teams rotate every 12 hours between primary and secondary call status
- Holiday coverage may be required if it falls on the scheduled call rotation
- Scrubs are provided
- Free parking available for travelers
- Former permanent employees must wait 2 years from their last employment date before returning as a traveler
- Current employees of Vandalia Health System facilities (including CAMC Health Systems, Mon Health Systems, Davis Medical Center, Broaddus Hospital, Webster Memorial Hospital, Grafton City Hospital, Highland-Clarksburg Hospital, and Minnie Hamilton Health System) are not eligible for this travel contract
