Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift position requiring SC or Compact RN licensure and a minimum of 2 years of L&D experience.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting within the Labor and Delivery unit
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts, 6:45p-7:15a
- Required to work every other weekend
- On-call responsibilities include two 12-hour shifts within a 6-week period
- Uses Epic for charting and Philips Intellispace for fetal monitoring
- Medications administered via Omnicell system
- Facility performs 200-300+ births per month
Requirements
- Active SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Beginner, AWHONN Intermediate, FHM, NRP
- Preferred certifications: AWHONN Advanced, STABLE
- Epic EMR experience required
- Comfort with couplet care or transition nursery preferred
- Experience with high-risk delivery assistance, C-section scrub/circulate, and fetal monitoring preferred
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive nursing care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum stages
- Skilled in fetal monitoring, IV therapy, and medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
- Assist with vaginal deliveries and C-sections, including scrub and circulating duties
- Support newborn care including APGAR scoring, newborn assessments, and discharge teaching
- Navy surgical scrubs provided by the facility
- Free parking available with pass distributed at start date
- During hurricane season (June through November), staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
- First-time travelers accepted for this position
- Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Local candidates considered on a case-by-case basis at a reduced rate
- Candidates residing within 60 miles are considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized
- Block scheduling may be accommodated with manager approval based on unit needs
