Description
American Traveler is hiring a Travel RN for a Cardiac Progressive/Telemetry Unit position requiring telemetry experience and EKG reading skills on a night shift schedule.
Details
- Work in a 25-bed Cardiac Telemetry Unit located on the 3rd floor of the main hospital building
- Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Patient ratio of 4:1
- Uses EKG machines, Hoyer lifts, and LifePak equipment
- Charts in Meditech EMR
- Unit staffed with a Charge RN, RNs, Unit Secretary, and Techs on both day and night shifts
- Low probability of floating to Med Surg
- Required to work every 3rd Friday and Saturday night (7p-7a) plus an additional Friday or Saturday night each schedule
- Additional coverage needed for Halloween, the Friday after Thanksgiving, and Christmas night
Requirements
- Active RN license (VA or Compact) currently in hand
- Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
- Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience required
- Telemetry experience and EKG reading skills required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced unit managing frequent admissions, discharges, transfers, and procedures
- Navy scrub color required
- US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Provide telemetry nursing care in a cardiac progressive care unit, with most cardiac procedures performed in the Cath Lab rather than on the unit
- Set priorities and modify patient care in response to changing conditions using strong problem-solving and clinical judgment
- Make timely and appropriate notifications to physicians regarding changes in patient condition
- Best fit for team players with a positive attitude
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
