Description
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for an acute care hospital setting, requiring acute care experience and BLS/MSPT or DPT certification.
Details
- Level II Trauma Center, Level III NICU, and Primary Stroke Center
- 492-bed facility
- Rehabilitation Services unit treating trauma, orthopedic, neuro, cardiac, post-op, ICU, and MedSurg patients
- ED patients treated like med-surg, with initial evaluations followed by continued treatment as needed
- Patient ratio of 10-12 per therapist, approximately 15 units per day
- May float to any area within the hospital including trauma, orthopedics, neuro, MedSurg, ICU, and ED
- Uses Cerner/Powerchart EMR
- 10-hour day shifts, Wednesday through Saturday, 8:00 AM start
- Weekend rotation required once per month
- No on-call requirements
Requirements
- BLS certification required
- MSPT or DPT required
- Acute care experience required
- Must be adaptable, coachable, and a strong team player
- License required if applicable
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include evaluations and treatment across multiple hospital departments
- First 1-2 weeks include 1:1 support with a Rehab Aide before transitioning to shared aide support among clinical staff
- 3-day in-department orientation provided
- Team typically includes 5-7 Rehab Aides scheduled per day, coordinated via group messaging app
- May be asked to assist with coverage on Thanksgiving or Christmas; other holidays staffed as normal working days
- Up to 7 days of time off can be approved
- Scrub color requirement: navy blue or dark green
- Free on-site parking available
- Open to travelers with 1+ year of experience and first-time travelers with at least 2 years of experience
- Candidates must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility
- Returning perm staff must wait 6 months before being considered as a traveler
