Description
American Traveler is hiring a RN for a Med/Surg night shift position requiring a NE or compact license and at least 1 year of experience.
Details
- Acute care Med/Surg unit with 28 beds
- Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
- Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4 on days and 1:5 on nights
- Charge nurse present each shift with a 1:10 assignment ratio
- Nurse aides/patient care techs available at a 1:10 ratio
- 12-hour night shifts, with shift times of 0630-1900 and 1830-0700
- Weekend and holiday coverage varies based on facility need
- May float to the ER to provide 1:1 patient sitting as needed
- Uses EPIC EMR
- Scheduler manages scheduling; no block scheduling available
Requirements
- Active RN license (State or Compact/NLC) for the state of practice required at time of submission
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
- BSN not required for this position
- Must pass a pass/fail skills exam (90% or higher) during orientation
- Driver's license required for consideration
Additional Information
- Travelers are described as being welcomed and incorporated into the unit's culture
- Unit orientation includes classroom training plus one 12-hour shift on the floor
- Navy blue scrubs required as part of the dress code
- Artificial fingernails are prohibited in all patient care areas; refusal to comply may result in contract termination
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, verified via driver's license
- Candidates may not be currently or recently employed (full time, part time, or PRN) directly by any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the past year
- Up to 7 days of requested time off must be submitted upfront for the 13-week contract; additional RTO requests will not be approved after submission
- Facility may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
