Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring EPIC experience and a Florida or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a hospital environment
• Patient population includes cardiac telemetry, MS/Tele, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, and neurological/renal cases
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
• Weekend work required, either every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required to other units or facilities including Cape Canaveral, Holmes Regional, Palm Bay, or Viera
• EPIC EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active FL or compact RN license required at time of consideration (no pending licenses accepted)
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of recent nursing experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• EPIC charting system experience required
• Experience with IV therapy, central/PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and oxygen administration
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (titration not required)
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and rapid response protocols
• Two professional references from a supervisor, manager, charge nurse, or director within the last year required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all employment gaps explained

Additional Information

• Provide skilled nursing care to progressive care patients including cardiac, renal, neurological, and gastrointestinal cases
• Perform cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and utilize rapid response/code teams as needed
• Manage wound care, isolation precautions, and insulin protocols as part of daily responsibilities
• Contracted hours are guaranteed for this assignment
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as traveling candidates with no radius rule
• Flu vaccine required from October 31 through March 31, with medical or religious exemptions only
• Must be available for lab work within 72 hours of signing
• Scrubs may be any color but must have matching top/bottom sets with no logos or prints
• Travel pairs accepted with unit leader approval, though matching schedules are not guaranteed
• Former staff, employees, or contracted travelers must wait 1 year after leaving an internal contracted position before reapplying
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Requested time off (RTO) must be submitted prior to interview, as scheduling will be based on approved RTO
