Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Infusion position requiring oncology and ambulatory infusion experience along with Chemo/ONS certification.

Details

• Work in a Community Hematology/Oncology Infusion setting across five clinic locations
• Care for adult hematology and general medical oncology patients
• Serve as an RN navigator providing patient education and care coordination
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours, 7:00 AM-5:30 PM, Monday-Sunday variable
• Floating to five clinic locations (Beaverton, NW Portland, Gresham, East Portland, and Tualatin) required based on department needs, with location preference considered when possible
• No on-call responsibilities
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active RN license (OR) required
• Active BLS certification required
• Chemotherapy certification (ONS/ONCC) required
• Minimum 2 years of oncology nursing experience required
• Minimum 1 year of ambulatory infusion experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, port access/management, central line care, and infusion pump management
• Experience administering chemotherapy, biotherapy, blood products, and managing oncologic emergencies
• Knowledge of psychosocial care, symptom management, and pain management including IV push narcotics
• Proof of COVID vaccination required with no exemptions accepted

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including chemotherapy administration, port/central line management, and infusion therapy
• Educate patients and families and coordinate care across the treatment continuum
• Recognize and manage oncologic emergencies such as anaphylaxis, sepsis, and tumor lysis syndrome
• Care for patients across a wide range of cancer diagnoses including breast, lung, colorectal, and hematologic malignancies
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restriction
• Refusal to float as requested may result in contract cancellation
• Returning staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 6 months to be eligible
• Two manager or supervisor references from within the last 24 months required; charge RN references not accepted
• Former employees or previous travelers at this facility must provide a reference from their prior supervising manager
• RTO must be submitted upfront and not exceed 2 weeks
• 13-week minimum contract length
