Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Endoscopy position requiring 2+ years of Endo experience and an active OH or compact RN license.
Details
- Work in a busy Endoscopy unit at a main hospital campus
- Shift options include 4x10 or 5x8 day shifts, 7am-5pm or 7am-3pm
- Requires working every third weekend
- Call requirements depend on skill level
- Floating within the hospital or to another nearby Premier hospital may be required based on census and skill set
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active OH RN license or compact RN license required
- AHA BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of Endoscopy nursing experience required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Skills in conscious sedation administration, monitoring, and recovery
- Airway management and monitored anesthesia care sedation recovery skills required
- Experience with procedures including colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, and esophageal varices/banding
- Experience with bronchoscopy, EBUS, and EUS preferred
- Scrub and circulate skills preferred
- Ability to obtain 12-lead EKG/ECG preferred
- Skilled in starting and maintaining IVs
- Lab work must be completed within 72 hours of signing
- EKG/Dysrhythmia exam must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include pre-procedure, procedure, and post-procedure patient care in a high-volume endoscopy setting
- Administer and monitor conscious sedation and manage reversal agents such as Versed
- Perform specimen handling and labeling duties
- Utilize specialized equipment including bronchoscopy carts, dilators, forceps, polyp snares, and electrosurgical units
- Support portable and bedside procedure cases
- Maximum RTO of 14 days allowed per contract with no schedule changes negotiable after offer
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius to be considered, as local candidates are not accepted
- Any past license disciplinary action will disqualify candidates from consideration
- Previous PERM/PRN staff or prior agency travelers not extended due to tenure must wait 6 months before reapplying and require facility rehire approval
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply given required travel experience is met
