Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cath Lab position requiring 1+ years of recent unit experience and Epic EMR proficiency.

Details

  • Work in the Diagnostic Cardiac Cath Lab of a hospital environment
  • Day shift schedule of 4x10-hour shifts, typically 7:00am-5:30pm
  • Routine schedule includes Monday-Friday and Sunday coverage
  • 1:1 patient ratio
  • Uses Epic EMR system
  • Required to take call one weekend within a 5-week period
  • Required to work one Sunday shift within a 5-week period, counted as one of the four weekly shifts
  • One on-call shift required per week
  • One late-stay shift required per week with rotating hours between 7:00am-5:30pm and 7:30am-6:00pm
  • Floating to other units or campuses may be required based on census needs, limited to units where competencies have been demonstrated

Requirements

  • Active RN license (South Carolina or Compact) currently in hand
  • Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Cath Lab experience required
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with Epic EMR required
  • Experience with cardiac catheterization procedures including diagnostic and interventional catheterizations
  • Experience with PCI, TAVR, Watchman, Impella insertion, and IABP placement/removal
  • Experience with pacemaker/defibrillator lead extraction, left and right heart catheterization, and rotablator atherectomy
  • Experience with TEE and ventricular assist device insertion
  • Experience administering and monitoring procedural sedation and emergency medications including IV vasopressors
  • Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE protocols

Additional Information

  • Perform a full range of cardiac catheterization lab procedures supporting diagnostic and interventional cardiac care
  • Assist with structural heart procedures including TAVR and Watchman device placement
  • Monitor pulmonary artery lines and Swan Ganz catheters as needed
  • If working a 26-week assignment, coverage is required for two of the three major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day)
  • Time off requests are restricted during December 26-31 to ensure holiday staffing needs are met
  • Orientation occurs every Monday, with annual compliance training required
  • Pre-assignment testing and training modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
  • First-time travelers are not preferred for this position
  • Candidates must live more than 100 miles from any Prisma Health facility to be eligible for full travel pay rate
  • Candidates living 90-99.9 miles away may be accepted at a reduced bill rate
  • This position falls under a specialty-specific exception requiring candidates to live 50+ miles from the relevant flagship hospital (Prisma Richland or Prisma Greenville), with full rate at 100+ miles and reduced rate for 50-99.9 miles
